During Kjirsti's lesson today, someone commented that they light a candle during the holidays to remember their loved ones who have passed on. I cannot light a candle in my dorm room, but I post one here to remember Peter Moench and other close friends and family who are with us in spirit this holiday season. Whether you knew Peter or not, I ask for you prayers for him and his family during this difficult time. "If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be."

Mary,
Haven't talked for a while. You sound good.
I was blessed to attend Peter's funeral. Although I didn't know him before, I came to love him during those 2 hours. I almost didn't go because funerals are hard for me. More accurately, they are challenging. In the end, that's part of why I went, and I was right -- very challenging. Understanding settled over me only gradually; infused my thought-cacophony with peace, goodwill, and a new friend. Grateful to have him in my life.
