Editor Lawence Kaplan of the New Republic said the following in regards to the Oberlin College Repbulicans . . . yes, my friends, you heard correctly; the OC Republicans began its brave revolution just a few weeks ago:
"You guys with the oxymoron award for my speaking invites this year. Not even the Jews for Jesus or the Socialist Worker's Party at Brigham Young could out do a Republican group at Oberlin!"

Shh.. don't tell anyone but, there are Democrats here at BYU. They usually go unnoticed except for the "liberal" ones who feel it is there job to educate the student body that there is more than one option on a voting ballot. The other ones are quiter and lurk in political conversations. Sometimes they will make a comment and the conversation will reach an awkward pause until someone makes a joke out of it. It has been known to happen. But I'll tell you, after living in the BYU bubble (which for those of you who don't know, is quite different than the bubble that existed in Sandy) for quite a while, you learn that the Democratic cougars are some of the most sane people on this campus. Some other cougars are just plain WEIRD!
