My Belly - The Real World

Even though I have a picture-ready smiling face on both my belly pictures, don't let that fool you. I can't wait to have this little girl out of my belly! I have never been so uncomfortable for so long in all my life. Why did no one tell me!? Adoption is looking better and better.

On a happier note, I am getting excited to finally meet her. I can't wait to see what color her hair is, what her eyes look like, and watch her as she discovers this world. Any additional advice to coerce her to come early is welcome.

Sorry it is pretty uncomfortable, we should have warned you. Just relax and let her come when she is ready. It is so much more work and lack of sleep when she gets here. So take it easy and get a pedicure!

OH and so you can't say I didn't warn you....
They poop and pee all the time.
When they aren't pooping and peeing they are eating. If you are nursing that means sore nipples and breasts.I felt less sore after 3 weeks. I finally felt more like myself once I was sleeping 5-6 hours straight at night. Which came about 9 weeks after he was born. Invest in burp cloths if the baby is a spit up champ. I like the cloth diaper kind the best. Swaddling is AWESOME! I like the "Happiest Baby on the Block" book.
Most importantly...it is all worth it. You are going to get her in your arms and feel the most overwhelming different love you have EVER felt. It is amazing how much you can love!
Congratulations! If I think of anything else I will be sure to pass along the two cents. Love you! xoxoxox

LOL, I feel so much of your pain and more. I tell you, I'm thinking I can't do it again after this third child comes (hopefully tomorrow). I know everyone says to relax and let the baby come when it's ready, well screw it, I'm 38 weeks and that's full term. I can barely function I'm in so much pain everywhere, back, ligaments, belly, varicose vein, sciatic nerve, yes I have it all. They all say walking, sex, nipple stimulation etc, etc... will help put you in labor, they haven't helped me so far. So, I'm going to ask to have my membranes stripped tomorrow at my appt. and if they won't do that (which I've heard rumors that this practice won't before 40 weeks) I'm totally going to try castor oil (google it). Good luck to you, Mary, the last month/few weeks are hell, seriously. And now you know firsthand, sorry I didn't tell you before.

you are adorable pregnant. i'm sure you don't feel it, but you are. i think if it wasn't uncomfortable, we would just want to stay pregnant forever--in some ways it's easier to carry them around and there's no crying and stuff.
on the other hand, meeting them and getting to know the and teach them stuff is unlike anything else. it's wonderful.
we're excited for you!
