Concert Etiquette

Speaking of Claude Debussy in his school days:

"He was extremely sensitive to the opinions of one or two people and had an extraordinary capacity for enthusiam if a new work gave him grounds for it -- he was in the thick of that stormy first performance of Lalo's Namouna, where his furious clapping and provocative attitude created such a scandal that the regular subscribers successfully insisted on the Conservatoire box being forbidden to students of the composition classes for several months."
