From one amazing friend: "Have you come over to the dark side? Your blog seems to indicate that you are against mountain top removal for coal mining!! I'm speechless. Don't you know that lining the pockets of already rich people is, in the long-range scheme of things, far more important than saving a few fish in some little stream in West Virginia, and far more important than whatever little disruption it may cause some yahoo-hick who probably votes democrat and uses an outhouse for his personal needs?!? I'm stunned. I really am. Or was your blog entry meant to be satirical? Maybe I misunderstood."
Note from Mary: Sorry, anonymous friend, if you didn't want this posted but I found it so amusing that I wanted to share it with others. At least you realize it's the "Dark Side!" ;)
Maybe a little more emotional than usual today, and I don't understand all the economics behind it, but this little photo essay seriously broke my heart. I lived in WV until I was 2.

Seriously! At times it seems that in America we only read in code, one which is based on money.
How is your class going with David Orr, was it? Yeah, he's awesome even if I can't remember his name. :)
Ich studiere Duetsch und du stuiert nicht. Ich bin besser den du.
Wow, they must have a lot of faith!
